The Shelbourne Hotel
A timeless landmark, The Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin’s grande dame and our national flagship 5 star Dublin hotel, is a contemporary take on the past – a beautiful, classic hotel brought right up to the present in a tasteful and sophisticated way.
The Shelbourne is located at the heart of Dublin, on the city’s grandest square, St. Stephen’s Green. The hotel is just a few minutes walk from Dublin’s most famous landmarks – Trinity College, Dáil Éireann, and the National Gallery, Museum and Library – as well as Grafton Street shopping and cultural areas of the city.
Built in 1824, this warm and inviting luxury spa hotel near St. Stephen’s Green has, for nearly two centuries, played a significant role in the literary, social, political, culinary and artistic traditions of Irish society. For example, in 1922 the Irish constitution was drafted at The Shelbourne, chaired by Michael Collins, and one of the two original copies of that historic document are to be found in the Constitution Suite to this day.
Recently magnificently renovated, and now the largest 5 star hotel in Dublin, this spa hotel has 265 bedrooms including 19 suites, many named after well-known guests who have an association with the hotel, and each a lesson in indulgence. Most famous is the Princess Grace Suite, along with those named after John F. Kennedy, Michael Collins and Eamon De Valera.
The Shelbourne Hotel is the city’s landmark with its most prestigious address!
